Last Chance Lost & Found Event

Lost and Found Event

All remaining K-12 lost and found items will be outside the K8 building on tables from 7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 1. This will be the last opportunity students and parents are able to look for missing items before summer break. Any remaining items will be donated to the Sister Carmen Community Store.

Bounce Empire Fundraiser on May 1

Are you looking for something family friendly and fun to do on Thursday, May 1 after elementary assessments or school and give back to PRA at the same time?

If so, join us at Bounce Empire from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.! Bounce Empire is generously donating 15% of all ticket sales, food, and drinks purchased for and on May 1st using our link back to PRA, which will be used to help fund future staff appreciation events.

Registration for the PRA Summer Youth Sports Camps is open now until May 10th for 3rd - 8th graders. Read our news story here for additional information and for registration links.

5th & 8th Grade Continuation (May 21)

5th & 8th Grade Continuation Ceremonies

Guests attending 8th Grade Continuation will sign in on the day of the event at a sign-in table at the entrance to the K-8 Courtyard. To ensure a quick entry to 5th Grade Continuation, PRA will be implementing a 5th grade continuation ONLY pre-registration form for parents and guests.

Please fill out this form with the names of parents and all guests that will be attending 5th Grade Continuation. PRA will also be requesting a birthdate for all adult attendees. Your birthdate will be run through our school Raptor system to clear your entrance to the continuation. Once approved, PRA will send home name tags for you to wear in Thursday folders on May 15. Please have your name tag with you when you arrive.

In addition, if you would like to have your child(ren) attend their sibling's 5th or 8th grade continuation ceremony and they will be returning to school afterward, you can use the same form for this.

PRA is also in need of staff, parent, and/or student volunteers to help make the 5th and 8th Grade Continuation Ceremonies a success. Please consider volunteering for one or more of the following 5th grade and/or 8th grade events on Wednesday, May 21. Click here for more information on the opportunities available or to sign up.

Medical Careers Day Volunteering Opportunity: Our high school students in Medical Sciences will soon be learning about careers in medicine. If you are a medical professional, please consider volunteering to share your experiences/insights and inform/inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Dates/times are Wednesday, April 30, and Thursday, May 1, from 8:15 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Volunteers don't need to sign up for both slots. We are looking for 4-5 professionals for each day to talk and answer questions.

Whether you are a doctor, nurse, researcher, or work in any other field of medicine, your guidance will be invaluable in helping students understand the diverse opportunities and pathways in medicine.

If you are interested or have questions, please email Dr. Bennett.

Student Volunteer Opportunity: Thunder Vista is looking for student volunteers to help with their Carnival event on Friday, April 25.

This is a great way for middle and high school students to earn some extra service hours and give back to our larger community.

Elementary Field Day Volunteers Needed

Parents! We'd Love Your Help! Field Day / Check Miner Mail for Sign-Up Genius - April 10th - May 9th / May 20th, 2025 / - Morning (3rd-5th) 9:00 - 11:30 / Afternoon (K-2nd) 12:30-2:50

Elementary Field Day is looking for parent volunteers for Field Day on Tuesday, May 20. We are looking for two volunteers per homeroom to help run field day stations. Volunteers for grades 3, 4, and 5 are needed from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Volunteers for kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade are needed from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Volunteers can sign up here! Elementary Art Fundraiser

Our annual Elementary Art Fundraiser, Original Works, is just around the corner!

Original Works will be hosted virtually. Through this online platform, you'll be able to view and purchase a unique product displayed with your child's creation. You should have received a Custom Brochure on April 10, in your child's Thursday Folder! The brochure will walk you through the online ordering steps. PRA receives 33% to 50% of all profits!

Executive Function Bootcamp for Incoming 6th Graders

This summer, PRA is thrilled to introduce its very first Executive Functioning (EF) Bootcamp for all incoming 6th graders! We strongly encourage all 6th graders to participate in this fantastic opportunity.

As students transition to middle school, they will benefit from a dedicated Executive Function (EF) course designed to equip them with essential skills for success. This course will incorporate research-based strategies and techniques to foster effective studying and learning habits. During the boot camp, students will develop vital Executive Function skills that not only enhance their academic performance but also build a foundation for lifelong learning. Don't miss out on this chance to empower your child as they embark on their middle school journey!

Skills include flexible thinking, organizational skills, planning and time management, self-advocating, and starting tasks. Please register for one of the five sessions here! Scholarship assistance is available! Please email Kathryn Hinshaw.

MS Basketball Open Gyms

Is your student interested in playing MS basketball next year? Both Middle School boys' and girls' teams will be hosting open gyms this spring! Join our MS coaches for skill development, team building, and fun games.

Boys Open Gym Dates: April 29, May 6, and May 13 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. in the HS Gym.

Girls Open Gym Dates: May 3, May 10, May 24, and May 31 from 8:30-10:00 a.m. in the K8 Gym.

Mighty Miner Football Camp

Middle School Cheer Tryouts

It's that time of year again! If your daughter is interested in joining the cheer team, please join Coach Pringle in the High School Commons on Wednesday, April 23 at 5:30 p.m. for a mandatory parent informational meeting.

Mark your calendars - tryouts will be held Tuesday, April 29 through Thursday, May 1 from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. Registration is required to participate in the tryouts, so be sure to visit the PRA Athletics website to register.

Elementary End of Year Assessments: May 1 & 2

It is time for our elementary students to complete their end of the year assessments. Please sign up for a time that best meets the needs of your child and family. It is critical your child attends one session in order for them to complete their assessments. We appreciate your dedication in partnering with us for your child’s success! 

Please note that there is no school for elementary students on May 1 and 2, as these days are dedicated to assessments. Middle school and high school will be in session on May 1 and 2.

NJAHS Fundraiser: Art for Charity!

The National Junior Art Honor Society (NJAHS) is excited to announce that we will be creating and selling original artwork for charity at a special fundraiser outside the front doors of the K-8 on Tuesday, May 6 after school!

All proceeds from the artwork sales will be donated to the Cancer Search Institute, helping to fund vital cancer research and advancements in treatment.

Come support a great cause, enjoy some amazing art, and make a difference in the fight against cancer. We can't wait to see you there!

Summer Enrichment Program

PRA is happy to be offering the annual Summer Enrichment Program (SEP)! It is designed for current K-5th grade PRA students. This program will be held at the school and be taught by highly qualified PRA teachers.

Students will receive small group and one-on-one instruction in reading and math. This program is geared toward students who would benefit from extra support, specifically in reading and math. This intensive program runs in person Monday through Friday for two weeks, from June 2-13. It takes place from 9:00 a.m.-12p.m. each day. The cost for the entire program is $300 per child ($500 total for two siblings).

MS Finals Schedule: May 19-23

Middle School Finals Week

Finals Week is scheduled for May 19-23. Student dismissal is at 11:20 a.m. Monday-Wednesday of Finals Week and at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, unless a student has scheduled a make-up exam with a teacher for that day.

High School Cross Country Information Meeting

Do you have a student entering high school next year and want to learn more about our high school Cross Country program? Please plan to attend our information meeting on Monday, May 5 at 6:30 p.m. via Google Meet.

We will review summer training plans, summer camp, overview of the season, and Nike Nationals. You can attend using this link.

Get Your Community Service Hours in Now!

Don't forget that middle school students in grades 6-8 are required to perform 8 hours of community service to participate in end-of-year activities.

These hours can be completed doing anything for someone else that they aren't paid for. This can be as simple as walking a neighbor's dog or helping someone clean their yard, to working with a school or community agency, such as volunteering at a Precious Child, etc.

Once the hours are complete, make sure that students complete the form that's online to log their time.

8th Grade End of Year Field Trip - Boondocks!

We are thrilled to celebrate the end of an amazing school year with our 8th graders at Boondocks! This special field trip is a way to recognize their hard work, growth, and accomplishments as they get ready to take the next step in their academic journey.

This field trip will take place on Friday, May 16 at Boondocks (11425 Community Center Dr, Northglenn, CO). Students will depart on the school bus at 9:30 a.m. and students will be picked up directly from Boondocks by a parent or authorized adult by 2:00 p.m. Visit this Cheddar Up link to complete the permission slip and registration.

Middle School 2025 Spring Dance

The Middle School Student Council is busy planning our Spring "floral" dance, and we need your help. Both volunteers and donations are needed to make this fun event a success for students! The dance will be on Friday May 2, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Student Council will be taking care of all set up and clean up, so chaperones are for supervision and food service only. Donations may be dropped off in the K-8 front office anytime before 3:15 p.m. on Friday, May 2. Feel free to bring in non-perishable items to the K-8 front office throughout the week of the dance (April 28 - May 2).

Senior families, this week your students received an email asking them to complete the graduation tickets request form.

If your student has not yet talked to you about this, please spend some time with them to ensure they request an accurate number of tickets. The form also includes a link to a FAQ document and is due back by Friday, May 2.

Robotics World Championships

Congratulations to our High School Robotics team at World Championship!

PRA wants to congratulate our High School Robotics team for their fantastic performance at the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship in Houston last week!

They ended up advancing to the final rounds in their division. They won their first matchup in the finals, advancing them to play the top seated team in the winners bracket (who were the World Championship winners last year). Even though they lost in the next two matches, they still put up a good fight!

The PRA team ended the World Championship placing 32nd out of 256 teams. We are very proud of their performance this year!

College Admissions Bootcamp

This summer (July 28-August 1) rising seniors (Class of 2026) have the opportunity to participate in an intensive week-long college admissions  bootcamp workshop with Dr. LeCarner.

The Bootcamp will take place at PRA in the high school library from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and the fee for the Bootcamp is $500. For more information, visit our news story here. To sign up, click here.

NHS Snack Drive for Broomfield FISH

Broomfield FISH is in need of snack bags for kids. FISH distributes these snack bags to families with kids between the ages of 2-18. These bags bring normalcy to families during challenging times by providing snack items for kids to take to school.

All donations must include individually packaged, non-perishable, single servings.

Acceptable items include: chips, fruit snacks, cheese crackers, microwavable macaroni and cheese cups, granola bars, juice boxes, oatmeal packets, apple sauce, fruit cups, cookies, crackers, nuts, trail mix, microwavable popcorn, ramen noodles, etc.

Donations can be dropped off in Ms. Cecil's room (2214).

Case Studies Night

Have you ever wondered what college admissions officers are looking for in an application? Or how to highlight your strengths and stand out from the crowd?

Join the amazing ROAR officers on April 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. as they walk through sample applications (case studies) with students and parents, providing valuable insights into the admissions process.

Before the case studies, there will be a small college fair from 5:30 - 6:00 p.m., with the case studies starting promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Soccer Senior Day is TODAY!

Come support our No. 1 ranked girls' soccer team as they honor their eight graduating seniors TODAY at 4 p.m. on the HS Turf Field! This will be a "Blackout" themed game.

*Senior Recognition will begin promptly at 3:45 p.m.

Girls Tennis Game Day on Friday, April 25

Girls Tennis Advances in Class 3A State Playoffs

Following a dominating 7-0 sweep of No. 15 seed Wellington on Wednesday in the Class 3A State Tournament opening round, the No. 2 ranked PRA High School girls' tennis team has advanced to host second-round action again this Friday!

PRA takes on No. 7 seed Timnath at 4 p.m. Friday, hosted on the tennis courts at Legacy High School. Click here to view the complete Class 3A bracket.
