Happy March, Miners!! Check out a Miner Message from our Executive Director, April Wilkin, for a budget update on PRA and to learn about the upcoming Annual Give campaign. Prospect Ridge Academy also wants to extend a thank you to everyone in our community who participated in the annual SAC Family Survey!
Tickets are on sale now for the high school spring musical, The Lightning Thief! Performances will take place on March 13-15.
Based on the best-selling book by Rick Riordan, travel with Percy Jackson as he discovers that the Greek gods are real, and that he is the only chance to prevent a war between the gods.
Tickets are available for $10 for adults and $8 for students/seniors.

Core Knowledge Night is quickly approaching! Mark your calendar for Tuesday, March 18 right here at PRA for a free annual science and social studies open house.
This event takes place from 5-7 p.m. and will feature presenters including the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, Fiske Planetarium, Nature's Educators, PRA's own Heather Preusser presenting her newest novel, and much more!
Annual registration is now open! Please log in to your SchoolMint account to complete next year's student registration by Friday, April 11.
Annual student fees for 2025-2026 have been posted to your Infinite Campus account and are due by the Check-in Fair in August.
Additionally, you will receive a separate notification in July to complete the Adams 12 Five Star Schools district online check-in forms.
PRA is currently looking for new Grade Level Coordinators (GLCs) for the 2025-26 school year for the following classes:

PRA Host Families Needed: Nonprofit EF High School Exchange Year (EF) is looking for caring volunteer Prospect Ridge Academy host families for EF international students that will arrive to Colorado in August 2025.

Read Across America Day: Read Across America Day was on March 2, 2025, and PRA has been celebrating all week. PRA's celebrations will culminate with a spirit day tomorrow, March 7!
All K-12 students are invited to participate on March 7 by dressing up as their favorite book character, Dr. Seuss-related, or wearing something reading-related!

Elementary College and Career Week is March 17-21! All week long, students will have activities focused on college readiness and career exploration! The highlight of the week will be Career Day on Thursday, March 20.
To celebrate our journey towards college and career readiness, students may participate in the following spirit days:
Monday: Your future starts NOW! Wear PRA spirit wear
Tuesday: Your Future is BRIGHT! Wear BRIGHT COLORS
Wednesday: Dress for success! Wear interview attire
Thursday: Career Day! Dress as your dream job
Friday: College wear

PRA is offering an opportunity for students in grades 3-5 to join a before school math club, centered on mathematical fluency. The club will be based on the 24 Math Game.
This club will take place on Tuesday mornings weekly from 7:35-8:10 a.m. from March 4-April 8. The club will not meet over spring break.
The end of session tournament will take place after school on April 16 until 5:30 p.m.

3rd, 4th, and 5th grade families will be receiving a text message from CODE STUDIO to view their student's tech project. This text can look like spam, so if it says it's from Code Studio, please know that it is safe to open the link and don't delete it.

Pi Day is an unofficial but increasingly popular holiday celebrated around the world on March 14. William Jones, a little-known mathematics teacher, first used the symbol π to represent the concept of Pi.
Though Pi is a little more advanced math skill for elementary students, the teachers at each grade level are planning some fun Pi Day activities in their classrooms. Students are encouraged to celebrate Pi Day on Friday, March 14, by dressing up in Pi Day shirts or like a famous mathematician, physicist, or scientist, such as Albert Einstein who, being born on March 14, was one of the world’s greatest physicists and mathematicians.
Get ready for an exciting summer of sports! Registration for the PRA Summer Youth Sports Camps opens on March 10. Visit the PRA Athletics Website for more details and to sign up. Each camp is just $100 - don't miss out on the fun!
Elementary CMAS testing will take place from April 9 - 15. Please review this document for additional details, including a breakdown of the test schedule.
PRA is happy to be offering our annual Summer Enrichment Program (SEP)! It is designed for current K-5th grade PRA students. Our program will be held at the school and be taught by highly qualified PRA teachers. Students will receive small group and one-on-one instruction in reading and math.
This program is geared toward students who would benefit from extra support, specifically in reading and math. This intensive program will run in person Monday through Friday for 2 weeks, from June 2nd - June 13. It will take place from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. daily. The cost for the entire program is $300 per child ($500 total for two siblings).

Next week is High School Transition Night! Rising 9th graders and students new to PRA are required to attend this event, along with a parent, which takes place on Wednesday, March 12 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

The regional competition was this last Saturday, March 1st at Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins. Our team members are eagerly awaiting to hear which teams will make the state tournament in April at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.

Middle school is planning to do some fun Pi Day activities & traditions on Friday, March 14, 2025. Students have the opportunity in their classes the week of Pi day to recite as many of the digits from memory that are found in Pi. Students who can recite 100+ digits correctly, will have the opportunity to "pie" a teacher in the face during an assembly on Friday, March 14, 2025.
Students may wear Pi shirts on Friday, March 14.

Prospect Ridge Academy was well represented over the weekend at the annual National History Day regional competition, held at Crownpointe Academy on Saturday.
The Miners had 10 students competing on Saturday and had six projects earn top-3 finishes, which qualified those students to go to the National History Day state competition on Saturday, April 26. The state competition will be hosted at the University of Colorado Denver on the Auraria campus.

PRA College Day will take place today, Thursday, March 6 during Peaks and all high school students are welcome. Younger grades and parents are welcome to join after school ends at 3:15 p.m.

Last weekend, the PRA Mock Trial team took second place out of 14 teams in the Adams/Broomfield county regional tournament! They advanced to the Colorado State Mock Trial Championship Tournament, which will be held in Pueblo on March 14-15. To learn more, read our news story here!
Senior and junior families are invited to join PRA for the Senior Leadership Capstone Symposium on Wednesday, March 19 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. in the HS gym and classrooms.
The Senior Leadership Capstone is designed to give PRA seniors the opportunity to explore a possible career interest in depth, under the guidance of a mentor who works in that field. Seniors will present their projects they developed with their mentor's assistance at the Symposium.
Successful completion of a Senior Leadership Capstone project is a graduation requirement. Please come see the incredible work done this year by the Class of 2025 seniors.
Show off your creativity this Pi Day on Friday, March 14. Wear a shirt that's Pi or math-related – whether it's a clever math pun, the Pi symbol, or something entirely unique. You can either purchase or create your shirt.
One winner per class will earn 100 Peak Points, and all participants will earn Spirit Day Peak Points for getting involved.
Families of 9th-11th grade PSAT/SAT Students,
CDE would like to notify you of recent cases of telemarketing fraud, where scammers impersonate College Board representatives and ask for payment for student tests.
The College Board does not make unsolicited phone calls to students or families requesting this type of information. Districts and CDE are advising that this has taken place in the state of Colorado this year. PRA 11th grade students will take both the SAT and CMAS on Wednesday, April 16. Please review this document for more details and information.
On April 17, all 10th grade students will be taking the PSAT 10 at 8:15 a.m., and all 9th grade students will be taking the PSAT 9 at 11:45 a.m. To review test day details for the 9th grade PSAT 9, click here. To review test day details for the 10th grade PSAT 10, click here.
Parents, if you have a student that has testing accommodations for SAT, CMAS, PSAT 10, or PSAT 9, they will be emailed separately with additional test day instructions - including arrival and departure times. The HS yearbook is on the lookout for photos of students participating in sports outside of PRA. This encompasses all athletic activities your student is involved in, such as dance, swimming, archery, horseback riding, gymnastics, wrestling, lacrosse, club sports, circus arts, etc.
Please email your photo to hsyearbook@prospectridgeacademy.org. Include the student's name and grade, what team they are on, and any other important descriptions.

PRA begins playoff action at 5 p.m. this Friday against No. 29 Delta HS. All K-12 students get into the game for free, while adult tickets ($8) and senior citizen tickets ($5) are available for purchase online. Fans are encouraged to buy tickets ahead of time.
