The first month of the 2025-26 school year is in the books! Hear an update from PRA Executive Director, April Wilkin, about the first few weeks and the work being done at PRA as we head into the month of September.
There is only ONE MONTH until the 2025 Miner Gold Rush & Fall Festival event, scheduled for Saturday, October 4! MGR is the official kick-off event to the school year, bringing our PRA families together for a fun day of community building!

Looking to be involved? We have multiple student volunteer opportunities, as well as adult volunteer opportunities available for the 2025 MGR and Fall Festival event.

Come make some new connections and meet other new PRA families with us that morning (8:30-9:30 a.m.) in the K8 Commons. PRA's Executive Director, April Wilkin, will welcome you and provide a short introduction before getting into round table discussions and a Q&A. If interested, please RSVP at this link.
Join PRA for two fun volunteer opportunities at Broomfield Days on Saturday, September 20th. All PRA students and families are welcome, but volunteers under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult (each should sign up individually at the same station). All volunteers will receive service hours for participating in this event.

Beginning August 11: 7:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
New Attendance Reporting Process: PRA is implementing a simple but impactful change to how attendance information is collected from families. Beginning this school year, all attendance-related communications—including K-12 full and partial day absences, and K-12 pre-approved absence requests of three or more days will be submitted exclusively through a new Google Form.
This centralized form is designed to improve clarity, reduce errors, and streamline the entire attendance process. Families will no longer need to call, email, or leave voicemails to report attendance items.

School Meal Registration: PRA Families, registration for school meals for the 2025–2026 school year is now open! Please note that the registration website has changed. All students who plan to receive school-provided lunches must be registered through this site. This site will also include the eligibility form for free/reduced lunches.Contact the Finance Department at 720-723-2113 or by email if you need a paper application.

The student's worked so hard reading all summer and now it's time to celebrate! The theme for this year’s elementary school celebration is "Game On!"
The Game On celebration will take place on Friday, September 12 from 3:15-4:30 p.m. Students who returned their completed reading log will receive an invitation to the celebration in their Thursday folders this week! Parents also should have received an email containing information about the celebration last Friday.
In order to make this event a success we need a lot of volunteers! There are volunteer opportunities for adults, high school students, and middle school students. Please make sure you are up to date on your volunteer training before signing up at this link.

All PRA kids in K-5th grade are invited to join the PRA Cheer Team for our Fall Cheer Clinic on September 25th from 3:30-4:30 p.m.!
All attendees will learn a routine choreographed by your three-time state championship winning PRA Varsity Cheer Team! Not only will you learn cheers, but you will also learn stunts and jumps. The attendees will then perform what they have learned during halftime of the HOMECOMING Football game on Friday, September 26.

It’s time for the 2025-26 Battle of the Books! Battle of the Books (BoB) is a voluntary reading club for 4th and 5th grade students, designed to encourage kids to read great books and have fun while competing with their peers!
BoB meetings will be two Tuesday afternoons a month. If you’re thinking this club is a good fit for your student, please fill out the Google Form by Friday, October 3rd. Then plan on attending our first meeting Tuesday, October 7th from 3:30 until 4:15 in the library. Click here to read more!
Kindergarten has an additional set of assessment days coming up on October 2-3. This round of assessments will look a little different. Your child will only attend for their scheduled 15 minutes and will work one-on-one with their teacher during that time. All other grade levels will follow a regular school schedule on these days.

Drama Club Begins Tuesday, September 9th! The first meeting will cover the basics and help prepare actors for auditions. For auditions, actors should have a song memorized of their choice and be ready to state the role they are auditioning for.

Calling all 4th and 5th graders! Is your student interested in learning a new language? Join Spanish club with Ms. Niehoff! The club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:00p.m. and will explore the language through, music, books, games, art and more. There are 20 spots available for first semester. Spots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
Please fill out the this Google Form to express your interest. The club's first meeting will be Tuesday, September 9th.

For a quartet of PRA Middle School eighth graders — Lucy Bote, Keira Wulf, Kylah Samarel and Charlee White — they saw an opportunity to lead and create change in the spring of 2024.
It was their initiative that put in motion the new Middle School Dress Code, which came to fruition this past June when it was approved by the PRA Board of Directors. Click here to read more about these Miners and their impact on creating change at PRA!

The Summer Reading Challenge Celebration for middle school students will take place next Monday, September 8th!
The celebration will be held during students' lunch period, which should enable everyone who completed the challenge to participate. Lunch will be provided for all invited students, so no need to pack a lunch that day!
All students who are invited have already been notified via email and a physical invitation. If your student is unsure of their invitation status please reach out to Ms. Irvin.
The PRA MS Boys Basketball program will be hosting another open gym for any 6th-8th grade boy interested in trying out for the 2025 season. This open gym is optional and are not tryouts. Boys interested in trying out can use these as an opportunity to work on individual and team basketball skills. The open gym will be structured to provide players with game situations and competition.

Science Olympiad is nationwide competition where students compete in 23 events that include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. The events include taking tests on various science subjects and building devices/machines (rubber band powered planes or helicopters, catapults, electric or gravity cars, etc.). Science Olympiad is designed to increase a student’s interest in STEM fields and provide recognition for outstanding achievement in team events.
If your student is interested in joining Science Olympiad this year, or wants to find out more, please have them come to Mrs. Naujock's room (1245) for a quick informational meeting Friday, September 12 after school from 3:15-3:45 p.m.. Future meetings will be Fridays after school from 3:15-4:30 p.m. in Mrs. Naujock's room.
Calling All Mathletes! Join the MATHCOUNTS Team! Middle schoolers (Grades 6-8), come sharpen your problem-solving skills and compete in fun math challenges!
Practice Times: Tuesdays (12:45-1:25 p.m.) and Thursdays (12:55-1:35 p.m.)

The Daniels Fund and Project Play Colorado are bringing back Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day in 2025: a statewide campaign uniting hundreds of nonprofits dedicated to getting more kids in the game!
After raising over $3.7 million in its inaugural year, this powerful initiative returns Sept. 3–17, 2025, giving organizations like PRA the chance to raise vital funds and build momentum for youth sports across Colorado.

Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at North Stadium in Westminster. Gates open at 5:15 p.m.

The PRA High School volleyball team will be playing in four matches on Saturday, serving as a tournament host site with six visiting schools!
PRA begins action at 9 a.m. Saturday against Ascent Classical. The Miners will then play again at 12 p.m. (vs. William Smith), 2 p.m. (St. Mary's Catholic) and 3 p.m. (Ellicott) in the main HS Gym.
Tickets can be purchased online. Admission Prices are $10 Adult/All day and $6 Student/All day, while Senior Citizens and children under 5 get in free.
